Thomas Hartwell
Trained in London and Basel, Thomas spent eight years designing residential projects before co-founding the studio. He leads the architecture of every house, from site analysis to construction drawings.
About the studio
[01]
Today we are a small team of architects and interior designers working from Lisbon on homes around the world. Every project is led by both partners, from the first site visit to the last detail.

Principles
[03]
01
We don’t start a design until we’ve stood on the site, at least twice, at different times of day.
02
We take on four new houses a year. When the year is full, we start a waiting list.
03
If a material only looks good from a distance, we don’t use it. Every surface is chosen by hand.
04
We design around how people actually live, even when it makes a less photogenic house.
Team
[04]
Leads projects on site and knows every contractor by name.
